The draft proposal also suggests the introduction of a centralised register of gambling exclusions, which would allow people to self-exclude on gambling games offered by any licence holder. A new gambling regulator has been proposed to replace the National Police Board. The new regulator, the Finnish Supervisory Agency, would have the authority to impose sanctions for unlawful activities and to revoke licences. The new proposal will be submitted to parliament in the Spring session of 2025 and would be introduced in stages once approved.
